Why I Do Pilates

First let's establish what is pilates.  Pilates is an exercise technique that strengthens all your muscles from the origin to the insertion so the skeleton is perfectly symmetrical, the spine is stacked and the body operates as was intended. Pilates is eccentrically designed to give you a long, lean, core based figure that helps alleviate back pain while giving you the abs you have always dreamed of!

I must be right. Never an aspirin. Never injured a day in my life. The whole country, the whole world, should be doing my exercises. They’d be happier.

On a personal note!  Pilates is my haven and my escape!  It's my drug!  It keeps me alive, it keeps me sane and, it helps maintain my body. Best of all IT'S MY PASSION!!

When I first discovered Pilates in 2000 at the University of nevada las vegas I was so captivated that I was sold!  I knew that I wanted to learn everything I could and share it with the world!  I was fortunate to learn from the Pilates guru herself, Dolly Kelepecz.  I told her my vision and, she trained me and gave me the opportunity of a lifetime!

and then after all my hard work, fun and amazing experiences, I had the best adventure yet.........................the birth of my son!

This was it, time to really experience first hand the benefits of Pilates both during and post pregnancy.  I continued to practice Pilates 5 days per week throughout my entire pregnancy with no difficulty.  I actually think I became stronger than before I was pregnant.  I gained 26 pounds, had a great delivery and healthy baby boy!  The credit goes to.............PILATES!!  I truly believe the benefits of a strong pelvic floor and, abdominals and the ability to create the mind/body connection definitely had it's advantages in the delivery room!!

Now I feel I'm at a point in my life where I want to continue to share the magical wonders of Pilates and encourage women that you can still feel amazing while you are pregnant.  Pregnancy is not a reason to throw in the towel and give up.  It's actually a reason to be more healthy for you and your little one!  My experience, and the experience of countless women prove that every women can do it! The time is now and I would be honored to share my passion with you!!
